Adriatic Cycle Route — Bike Tourism in Abruzzo
The Adriatic Cycle Route is one of Italy’s most spectacular cycling itineraries, running along the entire Adriatic coast from Trieste to Otranto for over 1,000 km. The Abruzzo section, crossing the coast from Giulianova to Pescara via Roseto degli Abruzzi, is one of the best-equipped segments of the whole route: a dedicated cycling path, regular signage and a range of cyclist-friendly services.
The Roseto stretch
In the Roseto section, the cycle path runs parallel to the beach for the full length of the waterfront (about 8 km), offering privileged views over the Adriatic and the hill profile of the hinterland. The route is almost entirely flat and suitable for all fitness levels — from experienced cycle tourists to families with children on bicycles or cargo bikes. Along the way are repair stations, rest stops with benches and drinking fountains.
